Imma just be honest with you here, I don’t peel vegetables. I have absolutely no interest in peeling vegetables. If you think I’m going to spend my precious time peeling vegetables you is dead wrong. I’m talking carrots, beetroots, pumpkin, potato, parsnip, and turnip. I allow peeling for onions and garlic but generally that only takes 2secs. Here are 3 reasons why you need to join the anti-peeling movement too!
1. Saves Time
You are wasting your time peeling veggies. WASTING YOUR TIME. No person on their death bed said, “I’m so glad I peeled all my veggies”. No one said that. NO ONE! Spend your time doing fun stuff, not peeling veggies.
2. You Get More Nutrients
The skin of veggies has plenty of essential nutrients that you’d be missing out on if you put them in the bin. Take potatoes for example. If you include the skin in your cooking you get more fibre, more iron and more essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Vitamin B, potassium and calcium. Why would you put that good stuff in the bin.
3. You Reduce Waste
We already waste enough food don’t be wasting peel as well. Unless you are one of those peeps who is going to turn it into a chicken stock just leave it on the veggie it came from and eat it.
