How long have you been at HQ/Frantic?
Almost 2 years now.
What brought you through our doors?
I started CrossFit almost 2 years ago. I decided to try it when I was getting bored by going to the gym alone. I needed something that would challenge me more. CrossFit seemed like it had a higher intensity level compared to the classes I was into at the time. So I got interested, started asking my best friend and googling to search for nearby CrossFit gyms. In my luck Mr. Google showed me the way to FITNESS HQ/ CrossFit Frantic. I’d been interested in learning more about CrossFit since the day I started with Frantic. As a first timer/beginner I struggled a lot, I stumbled, I almost gave up but looking at the people in the gym made me realize I had to push through. And I am glad I did it.
What do you remember about your first day?
It was an open house competition in 2016. When I walked in, shoes were pilled up at the door, people were yelling and screaming as others were scaling walls & dropping weights. It was like a super hero training camp where everyone spoke a foreign language, WOD, OLY, AMRAP? I agreed to attend the open house so I could check out what CrossFit looked like. I wanted to leave right at that moment – it was the most insane place I had ever been! But looking at those people around realizing that they are also like me, sure they also struggle at first but they never up, so I gave myself a challenge. “To never quit and try”. After a short period of time all these struggles and challenges became normal, I learned the language and I enjoyed being in the CrossFit. Now I cannot imagine CrossFit not being part of my every day life.
Aside from the workouts, what’s kept me coming back and wanting more is also the people. In FITNESS HQ/ CrossFit Frantic I found my place, I feel like I have an extended family, I am not alone, I belong to a community where people help you to have control and have self-confidence, and most importantly, I developed friendships. These people that I would never have crossed paths with in my life for any reason are now the people I look forward to seeing every day. People have made my life richer, funnier, and so much better. I’m so very thankful to Team HQ/ CrossFit Frantic and the amazing gym family we have!!!
What’s the workout that stands out to you the most and why?
Even though I can’t finish it, I look forward to the 12 days of Christmas workout. J
If you could have any super power what would it be and why?
If I could have super power, I would love to have superpower strength; you’d have no problem in lifting heavy stuff, like lifting a car out if there is an accident. It would be super awesome to help those who are in need and I wouldn’t have any hesitation to fight with bad people that cause chaos in the society. Having a power of Incredible Hulk would have a lot of advantageJ. (But of course a strength that I could control)
If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
Pasta.. Uhmmm I love pasta. I so love pasta 🙂
